Introduction

These Terms of Service govern your use of the services provided by Winckley EPC. By booking an appointment or using our services, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.

About Us

Winckley EPC provides Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) for domestic and commercial properties in accordance with UK regulations.

Our Services

We provide:

  • Domestic Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs)
  • Commercial Energy Performance Certificates
  • Energy assessments for residential and commercial properties

All EPCs are produced by qualified and accredited Domestic Energy Assessors and are lodged on the official EPC Register as required by law.

Booking and Appointments

Making a Booking:

  • Bookings can be made by phone, email, or through our website
  • By making a booking, you confirm that you have the authority to allow access to the property
  • You agree to provide accurate information about the property

Your Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the property is accessible at the agreed appointment time
  • Provide safe access to all areas of the property, including the loft and any outbuildings where applicable
  • Inform us of any access restrictions, hazards, or special requirements before the appointment
  • Ensure someone over 18 is present at the property during the assessment

Our Responsibilities:

  • Arrive at the agreed time or notify you of any delays
  • Conduct a thorough and accurate assessment
  • Provide you with your EPC within the agreed timeframe (typically within 24-48 hours)

Access Requirements

To complete an accurate EPC assessment, our assessor will need access to:

  • All rooms within the property
  • The loft space (where safely accessible)
  • The boiler and heating system
  • Any outbuildings included in the property

If access is restricted on the day, this may affect the accuracy of the assessment or prevent us from completing the EPC.

Pricing and Payment

  • Prices are as quoted at the time of booking
  • Payment is required upon completion of the assessment unless otherwise agreed
  • We accept payment by bank transfer, card, or cash
  • All prices include VAT where applicable

The EPC Certificate

What You Receive:

  • A valid Energy Performance Certificate lodged on the national EPC Register
  • The certificate is valid for 10 years from the date of issue
  • A unique reference number to access your certificate online

Important Information:

  • The EPC rating is based on the property's characteristics at the time of assessment
  • The rating is calculated using government-approved software and methodology
  • We cannot guarantee a specific rating, as this depends on the property itself
  • Once lodged, the EPC becomes a public document accessible via the EPC Register

Cancellations and Refunds

Please refer to our Returns & Refund Policy for full details on cancellations and refunds.

In summary:

  • Cancel more than 24 hours before your appointment for a full refund
  • Cancellations within 24 hours may incur a 50% fee
  • No refunds once the EPC has been lodged on the register

Complaints

We take all complaints seriously. If you are unhappy with any aspect of our service:

  • Contact us within 14 days with details of your concern
  • We will acknowledge your complaint within 2 working days
  • We aim to resolve all complaints within 14 days

If we cannot resolve your complaint to your satisfaction, you may refer the matter to our accreditation scheme.

Limitation of Liability

  • Our liability is limited to the fee paid for the service
  • We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from inaccurate information provided by you
  • We are not liable for any decisions made based on the EPC rating
  • We are not responsible for any pre-existing issues with the property

Intellectual Property

All content, branding, and materials provided by Winckley EPC remain our intellectual property. You may not reproduce or distribute our materials without written permission.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Any changes will be posted on our website with an updated revision date. Continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
