Overview

At Winckley EPC, we are committed to providing high-quality Energy Performance Certificate services. As we provide a professional service rather than physical goods, this policy outlines our approach to cancellations, refunds, and resolving any concerns.


Cancellations

Cancellations by You:

  • If you cancel your booking more than 24 hours before your scheduled appointment, you will receive a full refund.
  • If you cancel within 24 hours of your scheduled appointment, a cancellation fee of 50% may apply to cover our assessor's time and travel arrangements.
  • If you fail to provide access at the agreed appointment time without prior notice, the full fee may be charged.

Cancellations by Us:

  • If we need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, we will give you as much notice as possible and offer an alternative date at no extra cost.
  • If we cannot provide a suitable alternative, you will receive a full refund.

Refunds

Full Refunds:

You may be entitled to a full refund if:

  • We are unable to carry out the assessment due to circumstances within our control
  • You cancel more than 24 hours before your appointment
  • The service has not yet been provided

Partial Refunds:

A partial refund may apply if:

  • You cancel within 24 hours of your appointment
  • Access issues prevent the assessment from being completed on the day

No Refunds:

Refunds cannot be provided once:

  • The EPC assessment has been completed and the certificate has been lodged with the national register
  • The certificate has been issued, as this is a legal document that cannot be withdrawn

EPC Accuracy

We take great care to ensure all assessments are accurate and comply with current regulations. If you believe there is an error on your EPC:

  • Contact us within 14 days of receiving your certificate
  • Provide details of the information you believe to be incorrect
  • We will review the assessment and, if an error is found on our part, we will correct and reissue the certificate at no additional cost

Please note that disagreements over the energy rating itself are not grounds for a refund, as ratings are calculated using government-approved methodology based on the property's characteristics at the time of assessment.


How to Request a Refund

To request a cancellation or refund, please contact us with:

  • Your name and contact details
  • Your booking reference or property address
  • The reason for your request

We aim to process all refund requests within 7 working days. Refunds will be made to the original payment method.


Your Consumer Rights

This policy does not affect your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. If you have any concerns about our service, please contact us and we will do our best to resolve the matter.
